Starbase 164, similar in design to Starbases 173 and 375, the modern equivalent of the Regula class starbases of the 23rd century, was commissioned in 2363, and is currently situated on the border of sectors 5 and 18, near several Federation and unknown star systems. With 397 decks in the main section, it's typical compliment is around 5,700 Starfleet personnel and 4,000 to 6,000 civilians. It is capable of housing up to fifteen starships in it's internal bays, and frequently houses Federation and other diplomats. Enjoy your stay...
Starships, starships...you want starships? I think we used to have some of them at one point... Then the captain of one of them stole one of our warp cores and used it to collapse a wormhole, but not before they let us have the shit kicked out of us by the Dominion. The base is mostly just an empty hull, but restoration efforts are underway, and Captain Grant of the USS Eclipse, who caused most of the damage, assures me that the station will be back to original (vintage 23rd century) condition soon. Starbase 111 is being billed for repairs.
Oh, right, you wanted some starships. Have some starships. Having a lot of free time with nothing other than repairs happening on the base that I have to oversee, which mainly means making sure progress reports and supply requests are sent to the appropriate locations via shuttlecraft, as the communications systems are *still* down, I decided to take a look around at the local area of space. To my surprise, there's a nice big starbase not too far from here, a little deeper into sector 18. Now I know where those explosions that weren't coming from right under my feet originated. I've been trying to contact them by signalling Morse code with a wristlight, but they haven't answered. Perhaps I'm facing the wrong direction.
Unfortunately, transporters aren't working either. So at the moment, there's mothing much to do until the next transport ship leaves.
Hmm, looks like we've just got a shipment of flowers in...what are we going to do with flowers??? They don't look particularly healthy...what I wouldn't give for the replicators to be working again...
No, T'Pala dear, of course I'm not going colorblind, why do you ask?
(If you look closely you may notice that the Admiral is wearing a teal turtleneck instead of the red one he should be wearing, presumably there was a mixup with the laundry...)
